Using the power of communication to make a better world

About BT Ireland

BT is one of the world’s leading providers of communications services and solutions, serving customers in 180 countries.

Our success doesn't just come from what we do. It's how we do it and why we do it that really matters. Our purpose is to use the power of communications to make a better world. To do this, we bring together the best networks, technology and people to make connections, drive innovation and create new possibilities. We work hard to create a great experience for both our people and our customers. When we do this, businesses grow, communities flourish and people get more out of life. That's the difference we're determined to make, every single day.

Working at BT Ireland

We want BT to be a place where our people feel engaged, where they can be themselves, and where they are inspired to be the best they can be. We want to be a high performing, thriving organisation, where difference is celebrated and innovation is a big part of who we are.

To do this, we need to be an employer that supports our people across a shared understanding of what we stand for and who we are as an employer. A workplace where our leaders are challenging but supportive; where we celebrate success; where we are able to learn as we grow and where we make our people feel valued to grow and develop with our business.

Caring for Our People

We want to ensure that our people have purposeful careers and are able to make a positive difference for a company they care about. To foster this type of commitment from our employees, we must be committed to caring for our employees in the same way.

We show this by investing in our people and supporting them throughout their career with us as they move into new roles and take on new responsibilities. Supporting their work-life balance as their career grows and develops is also key. We don’t isolate our employees in times of difficulty, we always work with them to find the best resolution and support their wellbeing both physically and mentally.

Providing Opportunities for Growth

What makes growth opportunities different at BT is the potential to benefit from the extensive global reach of the BT group. At the end of last year we employed 105,800 people in 59 countries across the world so by being part of BT, you have the potential to grow your career internationally.

BT doesn't just offer opportunities to move internationally, we also offer employees the opportunity to move teams or departments as their priorities and skill sets evolve. We have a broad range of business expertise and services spanning from communication to entertainment. We encourage our team to find the role that excites them, wherever it might lie within the company.

Championing Diversity and Inclusion

Our People Networks bring diverse groups of people together. They recognise and celebrate everybody’s individual strengths, enabling people to connect personally, to discuss what matters to them, find support, share views, learn from one another and generate ideas. These networks operate at a Group level however in BT Ireland we also have our own local networks for LGBT+Allies, Gender Equality and Parents & Carers which are all managed by our employees. Each of these networks promotes various activities happening at Group level while organising local activities such as participation in the Pride Run (which BT sponsors), the Pride March, coffee mornings for parents, specific training and knowledge calls.

Flexibility and Trust

At BT we are committed to helping every employee to expand their own personal and professional potential. We recognise the value of giving our teams the autonomy to do their best work whilst meeting their personal responsibilities. If it's right for our customers, our business and for you then we'll support you with flexible working. What makes flexible working so successful for our employees and business is that is it underpinned by a strong emphasis on the trust and autonomy that managers place in their teams to do their best work.

Making a Difference

Our employees have the opportunity to make a real difference to their community. Volunteering opportunities can be initiatives employees are already involved in or ones set up by BT with different charities and partners around the world. We offer three days of paid work time to volunteer to all our employees (and at a manager's discretion this can often be more). You can see an example of how BT employees make a difference below with the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition in this video.

Perks and Benefits:

We’re committed to providing great rewards to the people who drive our success. These benefits range from the facilitation of flexible working, to supporting your future health and wellbeing, to a minimum of five weeks holiday entitlement and many more. As you grow and develop, your benefits will grow with you. What shape they take all depends on what direction your career takes.

Our Graduate Programme

Hiring graduates is important to our strategy. Our business is about people and we want a team that is dynamic, capable and utterly enthusiastic about taking BT to bigger and more successful heights.

Our purpose, our products and our services are completely woven into the fabric of everyday life – whether our customers realise it or not. We use the power of communications to make a better world.

We’re looking for individuals who have a passion for our work, a hunger to showcase ideas and the determination to bring them to life. If this sounds like you, find out more about our graduate opportunities in Ireland here.
