One of our highest priorities is being a diverse, equitable and inclusive organisation, and our aim is to foster a sense of belonging among employees and to support everyone to reach their potential with us. We believe in fairness, equality and respect for human rights, but of course, it’s what we do and how we act, not just what we believe, that really matters.

We’re really proud of our People Networks, which help bring diverse groups of people together. Celebrating everybody’s individual strength and enabling people to connect personally, our networks mean colleagues can discuss what matters to them, as well as find support, share views, learn from one another. Our networks also play a really key part in suggesting new ideas on how we can become a better place to work.

Whilst a lot of our networks are open at a Group level, in BT Ireland we also have our own local networks for LGBTQ+ and Allies, Gender Equality, Early Careers, and Families & Carers, which are all managed by our local employees. You can find out more about our networks and schemes here.

We’re an employer that invests in our people, and we make sure we can support you to achieve all your potential with us. Whether that’s physically connecting up someone’s service, or taking the time to get to know our clients a little better, or making sure our colleagues feel comfortable being who they are.

We support our colleagues in their career development, and encourage internal movement to take on new responsibilities and learn new skills. Supporting work-life balance as your career grows and develops is also key. Making sure we offer support for working parents, and opportunities to work flexibly is important to us. We don't isolate our colleagues in times of difficulty, we always work with them to find the best resolution and support their wellbeing both physically and mentally. We’re very proud of our accreditation as a Healthy Place to Work (Great Place To Work Institute) and as a Responsible Business leader (Business in the Community/NSAI).

It's not just experienced hires that we look for. We also hire graduates, interns and apprentices throughout the year. Our early careers colleagues get stuck into real work from day one; it's not all just making tea and coffee!
